1. Print quality

4. Smell and texture

If you have used the original before, you know how it should feel. A lotion that smells strongly of perfume or chemicals, feels watery, gritty or oddly greasy, has separated into layers, or stings when you apply it should go back to the seller. Stop using it.

5. A price far below normal

Shops do run offers, and prices vary a little. But a big bottle sold far below what most shops charge is a warning sign. If the price looks too good to be true, ask where the stock came from.

6. Where you buy

This is the check that matters most. Buy from a shop that sources from proper suppliers, that you can visit in person, that gives a receipt and that will take a product back if something is wrong.
